On October 18, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend and serve on the planning committee for Halloween at Safety Town presented by the Rotary Club of Strongsville and the Strongsville Police Department. It was wonderful to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they enjoyed trick-or-treating in a safe and fun place. This event is a great example of how our residents, local businesses, and safety forces work together to create a great event for our community.  In addition to producing smiles, this event also brings awareness of the Safety Town program to parents of children eligible to attend classes offered in early summer.

Strongsville Safety Town is made possible through the dedication of the Strongsville Police Department and the support of community partners, including the Rotary Club of Strongsville. Their commitment to investing in our youth demonstrates the strength of our city’s partnership between public safety and civic organizations.

Safety Town is designed to help children better understand the importance of safety in their everyday lives. Through engaging, hands-on lessons and activities, children learn essential skills such as pedestrian and bicycle safety, fire prevention, water safety, school bus safety, stranger awareness, and how to respond in emergencies.  Programs like this play a critical role in preparing children for school and helping them navigate their community safely.

Strongsville has always been a community that prioritizes families and safety.  I am grateful for the dedication of the Strongsville Police Department and the volunteers that make this important program possible and for their continued efforts to keep Strongsville a safe place for our families.
